Solution to End 10 Year Commute to LA

Press Release Body: John Mahan has been enduring a 3 to 5 hour commute from Morro
Bay to Los Angeles for his job for the past 10 years. Twelve months ago, working in
a Los Angeles law office late one night, he had an idea.

It was 8PM, Mahan wanted to wrap up his work and get back home to his family in
Morro Bay, but still needed to draft just one more pleading due for filing in court
the next day and was losing precious time trying to locate this form in one of the
hundreds of thousands of client files located in the office. \"Why aren\'t these forms
all organized in some sort of database on our computers? Aren\'t these available
online? Maybe I can \"google\" this one!?\" were just a few thoughts going through
Mahan\'s mind at crunch time. Suddenly the perfect example of a business idea began
germinating in his mind, an idea arising from a very immediate specific need. Mahan
realized he could create this database and make it available online for all
attorneys working in small to medium-sized firms.

Litigators file pleadings in the courts on a weekly, if not daily basis; yet, there
exists no online resource which provides access to an organized sequence of these
forms. Mahan soon saw the solution to a number of his concerns: a business that
would allow him to transition out of law into entrepreneurship, as well as a sure
way to end that 4 hour commute and finally be able to spend more quality time with
his family.

Mahan had been involved in this law partnership with other family members located in
Los Angeles for over 10 years, but could never commit to living full-time in L.A.
What had started as a summer internship at this LA office, gradually became a full
time job which he was never really fully content with. Mahan, his wife and two young
daughters settled in Morro Bay and Mahan decided he would spend 4 days per week in
Los Angeles for his law work and telecommute one day per week from Morro Bay. Until
the night he had the idea.

Mahan created PleadingPrep.com, after hiring Ryan Guest, a Cal Poly Computer Science
graduate, to help design the website and even create an \"iPod-style\" search method
to access all these forms. It took Mahan and Guest a 12 full months to create and
organize these thousands of forms, but now that the system is up and running, it can
literally cut an attorney\'s work time in half. It is certainly a niche service for a
niche market, but it works. PleadingPrep.com was launched on January 22, 2008, and
already has more than a dozen faithful users; not quite enough to stop the commute
cold turkey, but Mahan is hoping to be able to graciously bow out of his LA office
by June 1, 2008.
